Lake Atitlán Guide Plan my stay

Chapter 14 · Stay safe and plan

An invitation to Casa Kula

If you would like a quiet place to land, we would be glad to have you.

If you have read this far, you may already have a feeling for the lake. We would be glad to share ours.

Casa Kula is a small retreat center in Tzununa, with ten bedrooms and room for up to eighteen guests, looking out over the water. We have been here ten years. We host retreats, a few trainings of our own, and guests who simply need a quiet place to rest. We do not promise transformation. We offer a good place to land, a lake to swim in, and people who will answer your questions honestly.

The last stretch

We are a short walk from the public dock in Tzununa. Take the boat to Tzununa, then a tuk-tuk from the dock (about Q20) and a one-minute walk on a forested path. If you arrive before 5:00 pm, we can help with your luggage. Arrivals after 8:00 pm carry a $30 fee. Full directions are in our arrival guide.

If you would like to know more, you are welcome to visit casakula.com or write to us. Tell us when you are coming. And if Casa Kula is not the right fit, we hope this guide helps you find the corner of the lake that is.

With gratitude,
the Casa Kula team
